Brittany Marie Klucz, born on February 22, 2000, in Lancaster, CA, passed away peacefully but suddenly in her sleep from natural causes on February 26, 2024, while visiting friends in Los Angeles just four days after her 24th birthday. Brittany has been a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 5 years. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with honors in December 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Since graduation, she worked as a behavioral case manager at Paradigm Treatment centers for teens and young adults and St Mary's Medical Center. While attending college, she worked for JCYC of San Francisco, first helping children in after-school programs, then later as a counselor, helping students prepare and plan for college.
Brittany was very passionate about her career in psychology and all aspects of mental health. She had great dreams and goals to transform the field and enhance the care and treatment available to individuals struggling with mental health issues. In the short span of her career, her patients and colleagues alike marveled at her compassion and willingness to be there for her patients.
In her personal life, Brittany loved living in the big city and, most especially, loved San Francisco. She had lived in several areas in the Bay Area but especially loved the Presidio area. Her passion for organizing and interior design shone through in her meticulously arranged apartments—even her refrigerator had everything organized, including her beloved Coca-Cola, in clear containers and bins. She loved crafting in multiple mediums, including ceramics and scrapbooking. Cultivating houseplants was another hobby of hers, and her plants, including orchids, always looked great. Fashion and makeup were outlets for her self-expression, and she loved shopping trips (especially the container store)! She liked traveling and had always wanted to go to Paris. While at home, she enjoyed TV shows such as “Big Bang Theory,” movies such as "Twilight" (she even took a road trip up to Oregon to see the houses they filmed in the movies), as well as pretty much any horror movie. Some of her favorite foods included margarita pizza and McDonald's cheeseburgers (ketchup only). Brittany showcased her creativity by making TikTok videos and was fairly prolific at it.
Through her experiences with adversity, she developed a strong sense of injustice. She became a source of wisdom and encouragement to friends, family, and underdogs everywhere who were being treated unfairly. Following a situation where her previous apartment attempted to unjustly withhold her security deposit, she shared advice on TikTok for others in similar predicaments, ultimately garnering over 2.2 million views.
She is survived by her mother, Traci Scott (Jon) of Boise, ID; her father, Raymond Klucz (Natalie) of Miramar Beach, FL; her sister, Kristi Klucz of San Francisco, CA, her grandmother Karole Scott of Portland, OR, her great-aunt Ora Marie Lambert of La Mesa, CA, her aunts Sheryl Johnson (Glen), Kim Hilton (Aaron), Kristi Walton (John), Mary Lucy Klucz, her beloved cats Katerina and Miso, and many cousins. Brittany was predeceased by her beloved stepfather, Jody Smith, her grandparents, Dorothy & Vincent Klucz, and grandfather, Leroy Scott.
Funeral services will be held for Brittany on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Saint Serra Catholic Church at 42121 60th St W, Lancaster, CA 93536. The funeral mass will be at 10 am, and the reception will follow immediately.
Brittany lived her life to the fullest, and the imprint she left on the hearts of friends, family, and all who knew her far surpasses the short 24 years she shared with us here on Earth. Brittany, we love you, and we will miss you greatly until we meet again in Heaven.
