Wade Young passed away at home on August 10th at the age of 57.
Wade is survived by his wife, Krista Young, of 18 years. They were married in Lancaster,
California on November 22, 2003.
Wade is lovingly remembered by his wife and children--Kalen Baertlein (Isaac), Ashley Young
(Chris Lessner), Kevin Young, and Jordyn Kleinberg--his brothers and sisters--Russ Young
(Karen), Wendy Callaway (Eldon), Roy Young (Jennifer), and Deb OBrien--and his parents, Rita
and Joel Gonzalez. Wade is also remembered by his nieces and nephew.
Wade Young was born May 25, 1964 in Glendale, California. Growing up, Wade loved sports
and excelled in baseball and tennis. He attended Walnut High School and graduated in 1982.
After high school, Wade attended Rio Hondo college for EMT training. He began his career with
Wilson Ambulance. Wade ultimately found his calling in law enforcement. He worked as a Los
Angeles County deputy sheriff for 30 years.
Wade enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and camping. He could often be found
watching his favorite sporting teams play or visiting with friends and neighbors. Wade also loved
to spend time in the kitchen cooking great meals for his family.
He dedicated his life to serving God, his family, and his community.
The visitation will be on August 28th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s of the Valley Lutheran Church
in Palmdale, California (1737 E. Ave R, Palmdale, CA 93550). The celebration of life will follow
at 10:00 a.m. and will be led by Pastor Chris Hogstad. If you are unable to attend, please
contact St Stephen's Church for zoom information. Wade will be laid to rest in Alliance, NE.
