Tricia Werdmuller Von Elgg

Tricia Melinda Werdmuller von Elgg was born on July 17, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri to her parents, Eric Casimir Werdmuller von Elgg and Ferdinanda Christine Eugenia Werdmuller von Elgg (Hartwig). She was met by her two elder sisters, Lana and Pammie. Later, their household expanded to include their younger sister, Erica, and brother, Neil.

Music and family dominated Tricia’s life. As a child and a young woman, Tricia was very close with her siblings and cousins. Tricia carried the fond memories created during these early days with her, looking to them to lift her spirits even in her later years.

Music was omnipresent. Her childhood home was awash in it. As a young woman, she spent many nights in the Hollywood rock clubs, thoroughly enjoying the music of the hottest rock acts on the radio, the up-and-comers, the one-hit-wonders, and everyone in between as they made their way through the must-play venues on Hollywood and Sunset.

Eventually, Tricia had kids. Like with so many things, children made going to rock clubs difficult. While Tricia couldn’t take her children to the clubs to experience the music firsthand, she could bring the music to them. Hardly a day passed without her favorites filling the house. To this day, her children can recall the lyrics to a significant portion of Aerosmith’s discography.

In addition to a healthy appreciation of rock music from the 60s through the 90s, Tricia instilled in her children a fierce loyalty to family and friends. If you were up a certain creek without a paddle, Tricia would bring you a paddle, even if it meant swimming it out to you herself.

As her children became adults and her sisters’ children did the same, Tricia and her siblings and father took the opportunity to come together for fun instead of need. They formed a band and regularly performed at the family’s well-attended gatherings. Music rehearsals with her siblings and father, an uplifting combination of music and family, were the highlights of Tricia’s week.

Sadly, Tricia passed away on July 22, 2023. She is survived by her children Eric Randall O’Neill, Stefanie Christine Werdmuller von Elgg, Allyshia Renee O’Neill, Tiana Adrienne O’Neill, and Robert Evan O’Neill; her grandchildren Skyler, Karmann, Declan, and Freya; her sisters Lana, Pammie, Erica, and their brother Neil; her father Eric Casimir Werdmuller von Elgg; her dog, Samson; and the many neighborhood stray cats she cared for.
