LEONILA MATULAC

Obituary for Leonila C. Matulac
Leonila C. Matulac, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2023, in Palmdale, California. She was born on July 3, 1946, in Guagua, Pampanga, Philippines, a daughter of Crispin Coronel and Virginia Pingul Coronel.

Leonila grew up in the picturesque town of Pulungmasle in Pampanga, Philippines, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories of her childhood. Her early years in Pulungmasle laid the foundation for the compassionate and caring nature that she exemplified throughout her life.

After completing her education, Leonila achieved academic excellence and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines. Leonila’s passion for her chosen field led her to work at Sika Corporation’s Santa Fe Springs California location, where she dedicated herself to her profession for an impressive 20 years. Her expertise and dedication in the field were admired by colleagues and earned her the respect of many in the industry.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Leonila had a passion for gardening that brought her immense joy. She had a green thumb and delighted in tending to her beautiful flowerbeds and nurturing various plants in her home. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for nature.

In her leisure time, Leonila found solace in the captivating world of literature. She had a special fondness for Danielle Steele novels and would often immerse herself in the stories, finding comfort and inspiration within the pages of the books she cherished.

Leonila’s compassionate and caring nature made a profound impact on those around her. She demonstrated unwavering kindness and generosity to everyone she encountered. Her genuine concern for others and willingness to lend a helping hand endeared her to friends and strangers alike.

Leonila’s greatest joy came from being a devoted wife to her husband Arthuro, with whom she shared a love that stood the test of time. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising their sons Edward, Charles, and Richard, with love, guidance, and care.

Leonila is survived by her husband Arthuro; her sons Edward, Charles, and Richard; her cherished grandchildren: Annika, Annalee, Angelo, Alyssa, Emmett, and Andrew; and her sister Leonida. She was predeceased by her siblings Honorata, Fernando, Noemi, Neriza, Nestor, and Amador.
