Kathleen Evelyn Moore, 79

Born June 13, 1944 in Baton Rouge, LA and passed gracefully to be in God’s presence on November 30, 2023.

Kathy grew up in Fort Worth, TX graduated from Arlington Heights High School were she was always competing for the 1st chair in each class and participating in volleyball and basketball. She then went on to Texas Christian University receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Her journey took her to California where she began a family and continuing here education with a Masters Degree from California State University Northridge. She was one of the first women in California to be granted a business license and began working in the finance industry. She took her knowledge to Antelope Valley Hospital and worked for many years growing the financial strength of the only hospital servicing the area. Wanting another challenge, she began teaching as a professor at Antelope Valley Junior College in the Business and Computer Science Department. Kathy was a pioneer in the online education platform of not only AVJC but also the state of California. She was asked to lecture and assist in setting up online platforms for many universities and junior colleges all over the state. She finally retired from education and contracting after growing the department at AVJC and other colleges in California to pursue her greatest personal loves - volunteering and being of service to others.

Kathy was an ardent advocate for many organizations local and nationwide. She worked diligently with many local groups, Pete Knight Veterans Home, the Grace Resource Woman’s Center and The Antelope Valley Indian Museum (to name a few), where she also was in charge of their monthly newsletter. She was involved with The American Association of University Women (A.A.U.W) for many years and headed up their scholarship program giving many woman the opportunity to attend college and further their own education. She was a member of The Feline Breeding Compound, The Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Foundation and many local and state wide conservation and health organizations. She was generous with here time, her knowledge and her love for being of service and conservation of our natural resources. To know Kathy was to get a calendar from her from one of her many organizations that she donated too.

Kathy was a loving mother and survived by Melissa Lee Moore and Archie Lee Moore Jr. An involved grandmother to Chrystale Lee Faatz, Brandon Lee Moore and Corey Karner Moore along with her bonus daughter Jessie Noel Baerga. She encouraged independent thought, strength of character and responsibility to something greater than ones self. Kathy was involved in the local Methodist Church and often went to other churches to experience and hear the message of God and listen to the beautiful music. She exposed her children and grandchildren to culture going too many plays and musicals, going to National Parks, Nature Preserves and historical museums. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace and she loved to listen to Christmas music. She loved musicals like The Sound of Music, Annie, Oklahoma, Wicked and Mary Poppins.

Kathleen Evelyn Moore entered into Grace peacefully and without pain in her home of 52 years in Lancaster, CA in her own bed, as she was promised, having her children and her granddaughter by her side and God in her heart. As she lived her life, she required no fanfare, recognition or ceremony and these wishes are respected at her time of passing. In lieu of flowers or gifts, she would be honored if donations were made to any of the organizations that she served and was passionate about.

Kathy will be forever missed in our physical presence, but never forgotten in our hearts and minds. To say she was loved is accurate and prophetic, she was quality personified and lived her life with grace and peace.
