Born June 10, 1929 in San Pedro, California to Merle Le Roy Genter and Mary Ryles and passed away at the age of 94, Aug 11, 2023 in Lancaster, California.

She lived in San Pedro CA, Tulare CA, and Los Gatos CA.

Lowell Tate and Dixie were married and moved to Tulare CA. They lived in Sunland-Tujunga (Los Angeles) CA, Glendale CA, Mesa AZ, Bountiful UT, Escondido CA, Santa Fe Springs CA, Fresno CA, and finally Palmdale CA.

Dixie attended Tulare Union High School in Tulare, then married and started a family. While working at Grandview Children's Center she attended Glendale College to get her teaching credits. She later attended UCSB CA to get her advanced teaching credentials. She taught at West McKinley Assembly of God Preschool and later became Director of the preschool.

Following retirement, Dixie and Lowell moved to Palmdale CA to be with their daughter Pamela. They joined Lancaster Baptist Church and became volunteers working at West Coast Baptist College. While serving the college students they became honorary grandparents to many students living far from home.

Dixie is survived by her brother Elwin Genter, children Patricia Gonzales and Pamela Cooke, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Dixie will be buried with husband Lowell Lee Tate at Bakersfield National Cemetery near Arvin, California.
