DEBRA STANTON

Debra Diane Stanton
October 12 th , 1964 – October 23 rd , 2023

Debra Diane Stanton, 59, of Lancaster, CA, passed away on October 23 rd , 2023, after a short, but valiant, battle with Cancer.

Debra was born on October 12 th , 1964, in Independence, MO, to her loving Mother, Marsha, and Father, Dick. Debbie was the middle child between her older sister Patty and younger brother Joe. Debbie grew up in Missouri, Colorado, and Nebraska.

When Deb was 18 she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and spent months in the hospital fighting for her life. She was the second person in the US to be successfully treated for GBS.

Debra moved to California in the early 80’s working as an armed Security Guard at Edwards Air Force Base. In 1996 she changed her employment to Air Force Plant 42 where she met her future husband, James, at the weapon clearing barrel. Something other than the 9mm clicked between them and they were married on August 2 nd , 1997.

In August 1998 Deb became the stepmother to a bouncing 6-year-old daughter, Shauna. By 2000 Debra realized Shauna deserved a full-time mom so she gave up her new career as a Dental Assistant to stay home with Shauna.

Deb loved to travel and some of the places she got to visit were Turks & Caicos, Mexico, and Turkey but her absolute favorite was Greece. She spent 15 days exploring Greece and wanted to return to see more of the islands. She loved to camp, well actually glamp, in her RV. In 2010 she traveled cross country hitting 15 states in 15 days, California to West Virginia and back.

Debra loved music, her favorite was Pink Floyd, so much so she had a platinum album made out of a Darkside of the Moon album and had a tattoo of the famous prism on her body in, shall we say, an intimate area. Def Leppard was her 2 nd favorite who she got to see in Las Vegas. Lady Gaga, yes, Deb was an OG monster and one of her favorite concerts was Lady Gaga in Las Vegas. Other favorite concerts were Cher, Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow and Celine Dion amongst others. The one artist she didn’t get to see was the Bee Gees.

As you can see from the above another love of Deb’s was visiting Las Vegas. Whether it was for concerts, shows or bowling. Deb was an avid bowler with a 150 handicap and loved the excitement of a tournament. Another sport Debra loved was golf, she has 3 different sets of clubs with Cobra being her favorite.

In June of 2021 Debra was introduced to the true love of her life, her first grandson Damian Cino. Debbie was happiest when she was with her grandson.

Debra was predeceased by her mother and father, Marsha and Dick Baird; her cat Conan, and dogs Max, Lucky and Boomer. She is survived by James her husband; Shauna Cino her stepdaughter; Patty Baird her sister; Carl Dierks her brother-in-law; Joe Baird her brother; Daniel Stanton her brother-in-law; Patricia Stanton her sister-in-law; Damian Cino her beloved grandson; and dogs Gus and Lily.

Yes, animals were family to Deb.
