Alfonso Andrew Duran of Rosamond California left this world on July 20, 2023. Alfonso, who was affectionately called Al, was born November 30, 1962. He graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 1980, and began serving his country in the United States Air Force. After his service in the Air Force, Al began working at Edwards Air Force base from 1993 to 2022. One of his treasured accomplishments was becoming the CIC of the 416th AMU.
Al was a devoted boyfriend, father and "Papi", who loved to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed many activities such as boxing, skateboarding, biking, and going on adventures with his girlfriend. Being an avid 49ers football fan he liked to host and barbeque for his family and friends during football season and through out the year.
Al was preceded in death by his son Alfonso Jr. and is survived by the love of his life Catherine, his children Jennifer, Josh, and Andrew, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of life on August 25, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Halley-Olson-Murphy Funeral Home at 44831 North Cedar Avenue, Lancaster, California.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Al Duran at Wounded Warrior Project. A project that assists injured American veterans and their families.
