Thomas Naylor

Thomas “Tom” Brian Naylor left this world to arrive at his true home with Christ on January 20th, 2022, at the age of 83 in Newhall, CA.

Tom survived by his wife Sandra, his son Tom II (wife Ofra), his daughter Jodi (husband Kevin), and his six grandchildren: Ethan, Ryan, Daniel, Cambria, Liam, and Taydan. Also, his sister Pamela, and his many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as “Unkie.”

Born in Los Angeles on May 31st, 1938, Tom eventually enlisted in the military at the age of seventeen and joined the Marine Corps as a tanker. Only one year later, Tom came to know Jesus Christ as the Messiah and his one true savior at the age of eighteen in South Carolina. After four years travelling the world in the Marine Corps, Tom transitioned to the army as a radio technician. Nine years later into his service, he met his loving wife Sandra in Southampton, NY. The two married after only three months of friendship. Immediately after their wedding, Tom was deployed to combat service in the Vietnam war. During this time, Sandra gave birth to their first child (Tom II) in 1970. After returning from Vietnam, Tom and his family were stationed in Germany where Sandra gave birth to their second child (Jodi) in 1973. After twenty-one faithful years of serving his country, Tom retired from the military with honors as a Sergeant First Class in 1976. In the next twenty years, Tom lived a fruitful entrepreneurial life, working in several jobs such as an electronics technician, computer scientist, college professor, and businessman.

Other than being a sincere follower of Christ and a loving leader to his family, Tom was known for his love of tools and all things electronic. He took up many exciting hobbies during his prolific life, including sailing and scuba diving. Tom was always looking for the next exciting means of travel and was known for driving cross-country in his motorhomes and trailers. He loved his coffee, and he loved his snacks, which he often hid around the house in strange but convenient places. Most of all, Tom was known for his generosity to his family and his country. He was a man who understood that every good thing he received came from God. He made it his life to bless others with the good things that he had been given. Tom Naylor will always be known, remembered and loved as a man who loved others.
