Theresa Curtis

Theresa Carol Curtis, also known as “Granny,” was born into this world on May 9, 1963 in Brockport, New York to her parents Joseph and Carol Purvee. She was preceded to the eternal life, by her parents in 2006, her granddaughter in 2009, and her former spouse 2006. She left us on January 26, 2022, in Palmdale, California. She leaves behind three sisters, two brothers, five daughters, and twelve grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1981 and was a stay-at-home mother for many years. Once her children were older, she went on to work for the MTA as a Metro bus driver from many years. She was a lifelong football fan and was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos. She loved the outdoors, camping and going to the lake. She was always adventurous. She absolutely loved to sing. Even in her final days, she managed to continue to sing. The song stuck in her head, was the Applebee’s commercial with the Cheer’s theme song. She loved trivia and would do very well with all sorts of trivia games. Her personality was larger than life and she would let you know her exact thoughts. “If you know, you know”.

When she was not working, she surrounded herself with her children and grandchildren. They could come to her with any problem, she would be there for them, even if it meant she had to show some tough love. She was loved by all who knew her. You could never tell if she was struggling, as she was always cheerful and looked to make others laugh and be happy. Her laugh was infectious, and her smile was bright. Although her life ended abruptly, she was able to enjoy the last few years as if she was in retirement. She had no worries and was able to enjoy spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

She will forever be in our thoughts, in our hearts and in our minds. We love you today, tomorrow and forever.

If you feel so moved to help the family, there is a go fund me set up to assist with expenses for lawyer fees, everyday expenses and any unknown bills that may come up.
