Ricky Mitchell

Ricky was born on February 14th,1960 at Santa Monica Medical Center. He was Alice and Doris' eldest of nine children. He lived in Santa Monica, California, during his childhood through his preteen age. Ricky attended Sage Elementary School in Santa Monica, California, and worked with his father Doris pouring concrete.

Ricky moved to Littlerock, California in 1968 with his family at age 14 where he attended Almondale Middle School in Littlerock, California, and Palmdale High School in Palmdale, California.

He loved to cook BBQs for family holidays and special events. He also liked driving on the highway and listening to oldies which brought him to be serious and intense. Big Rick loved eating good food. He was known for his impressive dressing, wearing Stacy Adams shoes, and being a partygoer during his teenage years. He also was known for driving Lincolns until he fell in love with his Dodge Ram truck.

On October 2nd, 2009, he married Jacqueline Canteberry Mitchell in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2019, Ricky relocated to Henderson, Nevada, with his wife.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Doris Mitchell, his son Ricky Donale Mitchell Jr., his daughter Konnie Mitchell, his brothers, Donald Ray Mitchell and Robert Mitchell, and his sister Doris Dean Mitchell. Ricky is survived by his siblings, Geraldine Mitchell, Patricia A. Mitchell, Celestine Mitchell, Ronnie L. Mitchell, James R. Mitchell, Donna L. Mitchell, Johnathan Mitchell, and Johnathan A. Mitchell, and Godbrother Robert Body.

Ricky leaves behind, his loving wife Jaqueline, his daughter, Eva Mitchell Timmins and son-in-law, Joseph Timmins, his step-daughters, Aqueelah English, and Jasmine Gober & spouse Tereyal Gober, his step-sons, Omar Canteberry, Jordan Canteberry, and Amir Canteberry, his grand-children, Elijah Mayweather, Makayla Mayweather, Naszear Mayweather, Kalonie Bell Mitchell, Ricky Donale Mitchell 3rd, Aidyn V. Gober, and Zaire Canteberry. He also leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces and an abundance of friends that will all miss him dearly. He was a bright star in this often difficult world and will be missed by all.
