Maria Gonzalez

Maria “Mari” Higinia Gonzalez, age 93, was called to Heaven on Sunday, January 5th 2020. Maria had many passions in life. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers, and watching novelas. She loved animals, especially birds and frogs, and is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved dog, Cookie. She was a loving mother figure to many and helped raise three generations of family members. She is survived by her sister Maria Jesus Gonzalez; 2 sons Francisco (Ana) Gonzalez and Roberto (Nelly) Calderon; 5 granddaughters Mirian (Wendell) Brown, Carolina Gonzalez, Carla Zavala, Betty (Ceasar) Rodriguez and Marline Gonzalez; 11 great grandchildren Triston, Treajin, Taajean, Makayla, Takai, Lorenzo, Leo, Justin, Sienna, Jazelle, Zachary, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives Maria touched are invited to Saint Junipero Serra Parish, 42121 60th Street West on January 10th 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Visitations will follow the mass from 1-3 p.m. at Halley Olsen Murphy Funeral Home, 44831 N. Cedar Ave.
