Obituary for James Martin Larkey

With deepest sorrow, we share the news of James Martin Larkey’s death at the age of 61. James passed
away unexpectedly on January 9 th , 2020 following surgical complications. He was born on May 19 th ,
1958 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Elaine and Henry Larkey. Having grown up in Minnesota, James loved the
outdoors. He enjoyed fast boats, “boat festivals”, fishing and he recently took up the hobby of hiking
and hiked over 28 States in the past 3 years. James moved to California following college and he began
his career at U.S. Borax, where he met the love of his life, Carolyn. James went on to work in the
banking industry as a Vice President and Project Manager for over 25 years. He enjoyed his career and
adored his Bank of the West Team.
James is preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend Carolyn (Brown). Parents, Henry and
Elaine Larkey and Sister Jane. James is survived by daughters Jetta Zellner and Kye Quesinberry.
Grandson Cole Zellner. Brothers Dave, Tom, John and Don Larkey; Niece Shannon Larkey. James will be
fondly remembered by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
There will be no service but the family will be flying him and his beloved wife to Hawaii to scatter their
ashes together. This is where they were married and their favorite place to visit.
