Estelle was born on August 27, 1927 in Carson, Oklahoma to James Luther and Lillian Elena (Whitfield) Slawson.
She graduated from Indianola High School in 1946 and attended Business College in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Estelle and Alvin Epps (from Scipio, Oklahoma) were married on November 12, 1948 in Bakersfield, California. Two years later, they started their family with a beautiful baby girl and went on to have four sons.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1955 and committed bountiful hours in service. Her greatest joy was studying the bible with students that progressed in dedication and baptism.
In 1971, they settled in Rosamond, CA where Estelle worked as a tax preparer and became good friends with many of her clients over the years.
Estelle loved spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, where she would bake everyone’s favorite pies, Grandma’s famous strawberry cake and Grandpa’s Cookies.
After retirement, she and Alvin enjoyed camping and traveling and often spoke of their trips to Oklahoma and Branson, Missouri. Her favorite time to travel was when the Dogwood trees were in bloom.
Estelle and Alvin loved to share their anniversaries with family and close friends. They were blessed to celebrate 70 years of marriage.
She is survived by children: Gary Epps & wife Clarissa of Lancaster, CA, Steve Epps & wife Michelle of Rosamond, CA, Mark Epps & wife Christian of Payson, AZ, Scott Epps & wife Chellie of Rosamond, CA; son-in-law: Jon Reimers of Bakersfield, CA;
