We are sad to announce that Ernesto Dela Cruz Pascasio has peacefully passed away on
January 9, 2019. Ernesto is survived by his 3 daughters: Esmeralda, Elvira, & Evelyn; 7
grandchildren: Alvin, April, John Earnest, John Jervie, Jenny, Michelle, & Precious Juvie; 2
great grandchildren: Georgia & Zadkiel, 3 siblings: Linda, Eduardo, & Manuel Jr., and 3 son in
laws: Antonio, Rizalino Jr., and George.
Ernesto was born on March 20, 1943 in Manila, Philippines. He migrated to the United States on
August 7, 1987, with his youngest daughter Evelyn in order to seek a better opportunity to
provide for his family left in the Philippines. For more than 30 years, Ernesto has worked as a
maintenance cleaner; 10 years at Mira Loma High Desert Hospital and Palmdale Hospital, and
21 years at Walmart. He had retired from work on March 20, 2017. To his family and friends,
Ernesto was known as Tatay, Lolo, Erning, and Mayor. Ernesto was known to be a quiet
person, but once you get to know to him, he would fill you with many stories and laughter.
Ernesto was full of kindness and generosity, and was always willing to help someone in need
without expecting anything in return.
Ernesto was a devoted Catholic and always relied on his faith through all the happiness and
trials he had undergone. He always expressed the importance of prayer and that anything is
possible as long as you work hard and have faith in God. The date of his passing January 9th, is
significant because in the Philippines, Nazareno (the Black Nazarene) is celebrated by
Catholics and Ernesto was a true devotee. It was justified that Ernesto did not pass away in
fear, but passed with full faith in his heart. Ernesto will be greatly missed by his family and
friends, but the memories of him will last forever. God Bless, we love you
