Allen Brown

WILLIAMS BROWN, ALLEN
70 yrs old

Beloved husband of long-time political activist/strategist/author, Dr. Diana Beard-Williams, died in his wife’s arms on Nov. 11, 2021, at AV Hospital due to an embolism/colon cancer. Also, a constant fixture at Allen’s side was his son Carrie-Allen who solidified their father-son spiritual bond. A community activist and 32 year Palmdale resident, Allen authored/published several political periodicals including  “The Manifesto” that focused on historically questionable business practices/racism in the Antelope Valley, Palmdale School District, and the city of Lancaster, Calif.

Allen was a phenomenal dad, supportive and loving husband of 41 years, professional muse, indispensable business resource, fully engaged life partner, multi-talented professional, and the family’s anchor/glue. Born in New Jersey, he is the only child born of Elizabeth Williams and Alan W. Brown of Warrenton, N.C. (both deceased) and grandson of  Carrie Bell Williams (of N.J.) (deceased). His grandmother laid the foundation for his appreciation of life, courage, spiritual strength, and ability to be a realist.

Allen is the proud, passionately committed father of Carrie-Allen Williams-Brown and Christopher David Williams-Brown. Carrie-Allen who graduated from Quartz Hill High School holds a BA Degree in Economics from CSUN and an MBA from UOP, is his father’s business/investment advisor. Christopher is the father of a daughter, Madeleine.

Allen leaves behind relatives and old friends whose love and unwavering support sustained him emotionally/spiritually throughout the entire journey. Such include Beatrice Gomez, Precious Tobias, Connie Benton, Sanora and Joshua Harper, Loretta Kabadian, Michael/Jeremiah Jenkins, Annette/Aliyana Abrego, Mari Lu/Greg/Mathias Hadden, Sheril Bibbs, Tonya Peatross, Wesley/Nathan/Joseph Greene,  Darcy Fuentes, Vanessa Ruiz.

Allen holds an AA Degree in Electronics Technology from Hartford State Technical College and also attended L.A. Trade Technical College to solidify a research/writing career path. He began working at 12 which honed a strong work ethic. His career journey included Ralph’s Grocery Stores, Rockwell International, Tandon Electronics, North American Phillips, California State University – Northridge, and the development of the non-profit Coalition For The Empowerment Of Children And Families (CECF) which at one time handled conferences/presentations for LACOOE, National Head Start Program, Florida Juvenile Welfare Board, and Urban League.  He co-authored newspaper Op-Ed columns that appeared in major newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times. He was well-traveled, loved nature, and had an affinity for Honda motorcycles since age 19. His music collection spanned five decades, he was a jack of all trades/master of many, and an accomplished soul food chef, and occasionally a stay-at-home dad.

At the time of the diagnosis, Allen had just sold the family home of 25 years at the California Chateau and was moving to a retirement home in Nevada. But with unwavering strength and realism, he boldly faced his death with the mantra “It is what it is!” and “Take one moment at a time!” While he became frustrated by the medical services he received, he was never bitter. He was the ideal patient who took the time God gave him to emotionally and spiritually prepare Diana and the boys for his death. He had so much left to do with the family on his bucket list that of course he was deeply saddened but he was a Realist.

Cremation services were handled by Halley-Olsen-Murphy in Lancaster, California.

A Celebration of Allen’s Life and scholarship dinner will be held on Nov. 11, 2022, in Palmdale, Calif.
